Helped by communities and residents, the design is intended to support wellbeing, biodiversity and year-round community use.
Along with a new community hub, there is now a cafe kiosk, toilets, changing rooms, play area, outdoor gym, parkour course and refurbished MUGA and tennis courts.
The new space also features upgraded footpath connections, new planting and sustainable drainage.
Chris Wellbelove, managing director of Blakedown Landscapes says the company is “proud” to deliver this project, adding:
“The finished space is not only inclusive and engaging but also built to a high standard and designed to stand the test of time for the local community.”
Counsellor Kate Fairhurst, executive member for place, planning and regulatory services also comments:
“Together, we have created a community asset for local people to enjoy well into the future.”
The opened recreation grounds are already being used by the public.
