Get Your Veg On at Barnsdale Gardens
Get Your Veg On at Barnsdale Gardens: Founded in 1983 by the late Geoff Hamilton, legendary gardener, TV favourite, and all-round champion of peat-free, chemical-free growing, Barnsdale Gardens is tucked away in the gorgeous countryside of Rutland in the East Midlands. Today, the gardens are still flourishing under the expert care of Geoff’s son, Nick Hamilton, and remain a must-visit destination for gardening lovers from across the UK (and beyond!).
With 38 beautifully designed gardens to explore, there’s plenty to admire, but that’s just the beginning. Barnsdale also hosts a brilliant range of courses throughout the year, from willow weaving and botanical painting to rose pruning and spring wreath making. Naturally, there are plenty of hands-on gardening courses too, including Basics of Vegetable Growing, taking place on 17th February 2026.
