Barnsdale Gardens Win ‘Gold’ And ‘Best In Show’ 

On what would have been Geoff Hamilton’s 90th birthday, a garden created in his honour and memory by the Barnsdale Gardens team was awarded Gold and Best in Show at the Rutland Flower Show.

Geoff founded Barnsdale Gardens in 1983, and just two years later, Gardeners’ World made the gardens its new home. From Barnsdale, Geoff’s friendly, practical and down-to-earth approach to gardening reached millions of viewers across the UK, helping to make gardening accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

The Rutland Flower Show is an annual three-day horticultural celebration held at Rutland Showground in Oakham. The event brings together regional gardening talent and national flower clubs, with competitive displays, show gardens, celebrity gardener talks, plant shopping, local crafts and family entertainment.
