Ian Drummond recognised for service to the horticultural industry

Ian Drummond, the UK’s most decorated and acclaimed interior landscape designer and  houseplant stylist, widely known as “House Plant Royalty” by his peers, has just been recognised for his service and contribution to the horticultural industry within the house plant and interior landscaping sector, being named and awarded at the SME Business Elite Awards.

Drummond said: “I am overwhelmed by all the recognition I have received this year for my work within the industry that I love so much and delighted to see it continues to grow and get stronger.”

He continues: “The global house plant market was valued at over $13 billion in 2025 and its continued growth is due to urban lifestyles, the impact of wellness spending and a greater understanding and appreciation of Biophilia”

The year has marked Drummond’s ‘Ruby Jubilee’ – 40 years in horticulture and already resulting in a wave of high-profile industry accolades, most recently being made a member of the Kew Guild, the RHS long service medal, a Plants@work Ruby watering can, UK Business award for best in Horticulture within the houseplant sector, Horticulture Week’s Houseplant Garden industry leaders list, and shortlisted for ProLandscaper Landscaping Champion award.
