Can-Am brings family-run businesses into the Can-Am off-road stable
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is continuing to grow its Can-Am off-road dealer network in Ireland with the appointment of Cowan Bros NI Ltd in Northern Ireland and Pro Trailers & Machinery Ltd in the Republic of Ireland. These new additions are part of Can-Am off-road’s ongoing expansion plans to increase its share of the utility market.
Cowan Bros, a family-run business with over 50 years’ experience in the construction and agricultural sectors, will be adding the Can-Am off-road line-up to the products sold at its two depots based at Mallusk (Co.Antrim) and Eglinton (Londonderry). The agreement will enable the business to meet the growing demand for utility ATVs and SSVs in the sectors in which its customer base works. At each depot there is a dedicated team on hand to help new and existing customers find the right ATV or SSV for the job at hand.
Pro Trailers & Machinery Ltd is a specialist agricultural equipment dealer and will be expanding its portfolio of premium products with the addition of the Can-Am off-road line-up. The agreement forms part of its ongoing business strategy to continue strengthening its product offering with vehicles that are suitable for use in a variety of industries, while also increasing the number of sales opportunities for the business.
All BRP’s vehicles are manufactured to a very high standard from the Rotax engines which power them to the innovative designs that improve the handling, comfort and ease of use when out on the trails or towing or hauling goods and equipment.
Mike Loach, BRP commercial manager UK & Ireland, says, “The Irish market is continuing to grow, so we are delighted to be adding both businesses to our growing dealer network. Bringing on these two knowledgeable and experienced dealers will enable customers to benefit from the wide range of versatile workhorse ATVs and SSVs that are available in the Can-Am off-road line-up. We look forward to supporting both businesses and for them to assist us in expanding our market share in the utility sector, which, in turn, will bring more Irish users into the Can-Am family.”
David Cowan, director, Cowan Bros NI Ltd, says, “We viewed the Can-Am brand at several shows we attended and were impressed with what we saw. We did our own research and saw that the ATVs and SSVs were premium products and met a need for our customer base, so we decided to add the line-up to our portfolio. The teams at both our depots are looking forward to working with Mike and the rest of the Can-Am off-road team as they open up new avenues of sales for the business.”
Michael Kilmartin , owner, Pro Trailers & Machinery Ltd, says, “As a business, we aim to provide all our customers with the necessary machinery they need to do the job, so the next logical addition to our portfolio was ATVs and SSVs. We decided to become a Can-Am off-road dealer because it is a product line that aligns well with the agri, forest and garden products we currently sell and it will provide our customers with something new that will be an asset to them in the short, medium and long term.”
