‘Gardeners’ World Live’ Recap
The Barnsdale Gardens had a superb time last week when bringing their 40th Anniversary celebrations to BBC Gardeners’ World Live.
The display offered just a taste of all the show gardens at Barnsdale condensed into a fabulous show piece that brought all of it’s 40 year history together.
The stand was very busy with lots of visitors loving the planting, the bust of the ‘peoples gardeners’ Geoff Hamilton and the amazing colour of the pathway! The pathway chippings used, were produced from recycled tyres which continues the ethos that the Barnsdale team have always held of sustainable gardening, while its bright blue colour perfectly represented The Parterre Garden.
It was the planting combinations, the colours and the scents that really seemed to blow people away. Many visitors to the show who had never been to Barnsdale have been enthused to now make a trip and others who had been before have now been inspired to revisit again!
The most popular plant at the show was Geranium ‘Ivan’ which even made it onto the TV with BBC Gardener’s World’s Carol Klein highlighting it on the special show episode last week.
On Saturday 17th June, Nick Hamilton gave a presentation on the “Lets Talk Plants” Stage in the Floral Marquee hosted by David Hurrion. Nick was also on hand to sell and sign many of his books ‘The Right Genes’.
As the most popular plant at the show was Geranium ‘Ivan’, these have now sold out, but the team hope to get more in as soon as possible.
However the rest of the plants that were on display are available to buy now at https://shop.barnsdalegardens.co.uk/collections/forty-years-of-barnsdale-at-gardeners-world-live-2023
