Nick Hamilton is the owner of  Barnsdale Gardens. These rambling, naturalistic, and idea-filled gardens provide as inspiration for home gardeners. Nick’s zeal is contagious, and he has published gardening books and appeared on numerous television shows thanks to his wide expertise.

David Hurrion’s knowledge is based on more than 40 years of working in gardens and nurseries, and also growing his own plants in plots all over the UK. He has spent more than 25 years writing for and editing a whole host of gardening magazines and was the Associate Editor for BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine for many years. David also often appears as a horticultural commentator on national and local radio programmes, as well as on television.

David says “It’s always great to be able to help fellow gardeners with their queries and to offer practical advice. And with the extreme conditions we’ve been faced with over the last 18 months our plants and gardens need all the help they can get. I’m so much looking forward to meeting everyone at Barnsdale and to catching up with Nick again.”

Jon Brocklebank has been at Barnsdale Gardens for 28 years and has been the Head Gardener there for 23 years. He attended Brooksby College as part of his initial training and was then trained by Nick Hamilton prior to taking on the Head Gardener role. He has a wide range of horticultural experience and also takes some of the practical courses that Barnsdale run, as well as taking groups on guided walks.

Susie Watson has worked at Barnsdale Gardens for 19 years and has worked all that time looking after the productive areas, inside and out. She trained at Cannington and Riseholme colleges.

If you are visiting Barnsdale Gardens that day, why not come along and enjoy the knowledge you can glean from our experts!
