Husqvarna unveils new 40cc petrol chainsaws for advanced tree care

Husqvarna, the pioneer of industry-changing innovations within forestry and arboriculture, is expanding its offering to tree care professionals with two new 40cc class petrol chainsaws set to launch in early 2023.

The 540 XP® Mark III will be a completely new petrol rear-handle chainsaw, developed for arborists and tree care professionals who prefer it to top-handle saws. This will be suitable for instance when working from a bucket truck, but also for anyone looking for a professional chainsaw when completing lighter forestry work such as thinning.

The T540 XP® Mark III is a top-handle chainsaw with a new powerful engine that is even more reliable than previous generations in hot and cold starts, with improved runability during use. Husqvarna has made chainsaws for more than 60 years and with these two new products, it is able to broaden its range of power products to meet the evolving needs of arborists, tree surgeons and loggers.

The T540 XP® Mark III was designed specifically to be a reliable saw with high manoeuvrability and plenty of power for section felling and cutting thick branches. Thanks to a brand-new engine, the saw provides great cutting capacity and enables users to do more work in less time. At the same time, the weight is kept low to produce a high power-to-weight ratio.

To complement the T540 XP® Mark III, the Husqvarna 540 XP® Mark III is designed for ground staff and lighter forestry work. Like its top-handle counterpart, the rear-handle model is lightweight and easy to carry while working, making it an ideal saw for anyone felling and thinning smaller trees.

“These two new saws expand our offering for tree professionals who would like to be able to choose between top- and rear-handle saws with petrol or battery as power source. Looking more globally, the rear-handle version is also a great option for countries where top-handle saws are not yet available”, said Hannah Cooper, Professional Segment Manager, at Husqvarna UK.

High reliability and comfort

Both models feature AutoTune 3.0 and simplified starting technology, which ensures that the engine starts with less effort than previous generations. The result is an even more reliable saw that will start regardless of the conditions in the park or forest. The engine is also easy to refill thanks to flip-up tank caps that are easy to open and close.

The saws come with a user-centric design and high manoeuvrability which makes them easy and ergonomic to use when climbing and working up in a tree. Both are also equipped with Air Injection which prevents the air filter from getting clogged up. This further improves reliability and minimises the time users must spend maintaining their saws. Additionally, the saws were designed to minimise vibrations to make them more comfortable to use during long work shifts.

Users will have the option to connect the chainsaws to Husqvarna Fleet Services™ to keep track of usage and when the products need to be serviced. They are also delivered with Husqvarna’s X-CUT and X-Precision chains to further improve cutting performance.

The T540 XP® Mark III and the 540 XP® Mark III will go on sale in the first quarter of 2023. For more information on Husqvarna and its new product innovations, visit www.husqvarna.com/uk
