About Us

We are a small commercial grower/nursery based in Southwest London, looking for a horticulturalist with nursery experience to join our growing team. We mainly focus on 2ltr, 4ltr and 5ltr pot production of herbaceous, palms and other interesting exotics.

About The Job

The role will include multiple tasks to maintain and further develop the production of stock throughout the year in our glasshouses and display areas. Responsibilities will include regular crop walks, checking stock for pests and diseases, using biological controls as part of our IPM, mixing and applying feeds, watering stock, maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.

During the busiest 2L production season (February-June) you will be responsible for working with and supervising of a small team, potting on liners, ensuring consistent quality is maintained, correct horticultural practice adhered to and keeping accurate daily records for stock control. At quieter times you will be expected to help with nursey tasks.

The role would be ideal for a self-motivated individual with a good understanding of horticulture, a person willing to learn and contribute to working in a small team. For the right candidate there is future potential to develop the role and bring in new ideas and plants to grow.

 

The ideal candidate will have;

 

  • Experience working within a busy commercial nursery environment
  • Level 2 qualification in horticulture or proven practical experience
  • Preferably hold a PA1 and PA6 license
  • Good knowledge of hardy nursery stock
  • Ability to work to deadlines Excellent communicator and team player with enthusiasm for horticulture

The hours are 08:00-16:00 Monday for Friday
