With over 100 members, the Plant Healthy Certification Scheme helps professionals minimise the risk of introducing and spreading damaging pests and diseases when growing and handling plant material.

Landscapers play “huge role” in protecting the health of plants
There are currently nine businesses which list landscaping as one the scopes of their businesses with a Plant Healthy Certification.
Project director, Malcolm Catlin, says, “landscapers, along with growers and designers, have a huge role to play in protecting the health of plants and trees.”
From the likes of Landform Consultants and Nicholsons, landscaping companies are contributing to plant health.
He adds that following recent events, for example the BALI National Landscape Conference on 26 March, several landscaping companies have submitted enquiries since.
Since the announcement of recently-appointed ambassador Adam Frost, Plant Healthy intends to communicate the importance of plant health as a whole. From sharing key messages, short videos, contributing to campaigns and using his voice for public-facing content, Frost will “help to raise the profile of plant health and the role Plant Healthy plays in helping to protect our gardens, landscapes and livelihoods from serious plant pests and diseases,” says Catlin.
Once certified, businesses can use the Plant Healthy logo as a trusted mark to demonstrate its commitment to protecting plant health. Catlin says:
“Being aware of the growing number of serious pest risks, selecting the right plants from the right sources, and having basic procedures in place are all essential. Plant Healthy certification provides the framework for doing this, peace of mind for your own business, and confidence for your clients.”
Intent on growing its visibility, Plant Healthy will be publishing new videos filmed with Frost
