Romance is blooming for Valentines at Barnsdale Gardens

If there is a garden attraction as romantic as Barnsdale we can’t think of one! Britain’s largest collection of individually designed gardens, is based in the East Midlands and teeming with great ideas you can take back to your garden, whatever the season!

The gardens in Valentines season
February is snowdrop month, which means it is the perfect time to come and relish the wide array of snowdrops that can be seen throughout the gardens. As well as common snowdrops that we all know and love, many rare varieties will be showing off their stunning shapes and they really shouldn’t be missed!

Other stunning flowering plants that will be on show this month are Daffodils and beautifully scented varieties such as Viburnum farreri,  Lonicera x purpusii and Daphne. Hamamelis (witch-hazel) and winter flowering heathers (Erica carnea & Erica darleyensis) bring a tapestry of rich golds and purples, and for a flash of berries Sarcococca (winter box) and Mahonia can be enjoyed.  The gardens also have an abundance of evergreen foliage plants, which bring rich green tones to the proceedings!
