The Cottage Garden Society win Bronze

The Cottage Garden Society win Bronze: The Cottage Garden Society team had a very successful weekend at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival.  They revelled in the chance to share all the benefits that the CGS offers to those who love all things related to gardening!

Volunteer members from the local CGS Cotswold Group were pleased to find that all their hard work was not in vain as their display won Bronze at the RHS show. It showcased how easy it is to grow in pots and create a colourful and eco-friendly display of all types of fruits, vegetables and flowers in a small space from seeds. The Cottage Garden Society seed box was at the show to give everyone a chance to try growing something from seed in return for a small donation.

One of the main benefits of joining the society is the seed exchange.  Seeds are provided by society members so that the exchange can be enjoyed at the end of each year, up to 1,000 seeds are offered on the seed list annually.

Sue Clarke, Chair of the CGS says, “The Malvern show this year was exceptional and we all thoroughly enjoyed being back there this past weekend”  Sue continues, “We are always looking for the chance to share, not only our gardening knowledge, but also the benefits that abound from joining The Cottage Garden Society.  Shows like the Malvern Spring Festival offer us the ideal space to meet with members old and new and also any future members that would like to know more about our society.

The Cottage Garden Society will next be exhibiting in the Floral Marquee at BBC Gardeners World Live between the 13th and 16th June at Birmingham NEC.  Look out for more details in the coming weeks!
