The Year That Native Grass Became King

The Year That Native Grass Became King: In 2024, The Lawn Association continued with their commitment to promoting the way of looking after lawns as sustainably as possible. But what is sustainable lawn care? Is it just neglecting the lawn to let nature take over, or can we create beautiful spaces through eco-friendly practices?

Sustainable lawn care surprises many, it doesn’t involve endless over-seeding or harmful fertilisers. Instead of reacting to problems, it’s about proactive, nature-based solutions.

Keeping It Native

With this in mind, The Lawn Association team has put together a number of native grass seeds, all aimed at easier, more sustainable lawn care.   These resilient, homegrown species will help anyone create a lawn that not only continues to thicken as we mow and scarify, without ever needing to overseed, but also aligns with the same grass species that successfully covers 99% of our country.
