New CPD sheds light on modern fencing systems

New CPD sheds light on modern fencing systems: Birkdale has recently launched a CPD to help architects and landscape architects make an informed decision when selecting a fencing post system for their project. Accredited by the CPD Certification Service, the session provides the opportunity to learn about modern fencing systems and how steel posts can improve the visual aesthetic of a project whilst providing greater durability.

Although steel is by no means a new material, its use in fencing is still relatively uncommon. However, when compared to traditional timber and concrete posts, steel systems such as Birkdale’s DuraPost®, offer a sleek and modern finish as well as increased durability and longevity.

The CPD session begins by covering timber and concrete and the associated pros and cons of both, before highlighting the credentials of steel fence posts, and why they overcome the common performance issues linked to traditional material choices. Information is provided on the installation process, which is followed by case study examples to provide inspiration and showcase some real-world applications of steel fence posts.

Simon Adcook, Sales Director at Birkdale concluded: “By the end of our new CPD, architects and landscape architects will have a greater understanding of the importance of material choice when specifying a fencing solution. They will also gain knowledge of how the installation process differs depending on the material of a post and hopefully will finish the session feeling inspired about the aesthetic and performance capabilities as well as the sustainability credentials of steel fence posts.”
