A new TV commercial forms part of Trex’s latest campaign – its biggest marketing investment to date in the UK at £664k.

Directed and produced by creative and communications agency Pace, the advert – which can be seen across Sky and video on demand – features a voiceover by actor and comedian Angus Deayton.
It’s one of a variety of mediums, from television to social media, that make up the composite decking manufacturer’s Make Life Outstanding campaign, which seeks to show the role of decking in everyday lives and the ways people spend time in their outdoor space.
Nine distinct personalities feature in the campaign, each symbolising a different benefit of Trex. Its stain-resistance, for instance, is shown through an artist painting freely on a canvas, and its scratch-resistance is reflected through a barbecue taking place. The brand’s SunComfortable™ technology, which reduces heat build up, is also advertised through a man sunbathing.
“An investment in a campaign like this reflects Trex’s fast-growing popularity in the UK,” says Hailey Schnese, Trex’s senior manager of brand marketing.
With annual revenues of around $1.2bn, Trex Company is increasing its focus on the UK as it says adoption of composite decking continues to increase.
“People want an outdoor space fit to withstand our climate while freeing them up to spend time enjoying it instead of maintaining it – the perfect setting to Make Life Outstanding.”
