Maintain your tools yourself all year round
Don’t forget that a few simple measures after mowing throughout the year will help to extend the life of your machine. Follow these steps for a healthy mower!
Mowers
– Always clean the underneath of your mower after each cut, cleaning any debris will help with the airflow.
– Check for anything that is moving, such as bolts which may need tightening.
– Clean the grass collector and dry it properly
– Most STIGA mowers have a washing link so that you can attach a hose to the deck to clean the underside of the mower more easily.
– If you use a petrol mower, do not use stale fuel in petrol mowers (it goes stale after 30 days if fuel stabiliser is not used at the time of purchasing the petrol). We also recommend adding fuel stabiliser to fresh petrol to keep your mower running smoothly
Garden Tools
– Always clean away any soil on your tools and after washing allow to dry thoroughly
– Make sure any sap on pruners is cleaned off as this can effect cutting quality
