Are You Garden Ready For Autumn?
It is so hard to even imagine autumn right now in this heatwave, but it will be here before we know it! Pictures like this one of dry, pale brown lawns, may not inspire you at all, but grass is one tough cookie of a plant and once the rains do come, it will bounce back….so best be prepared for when it does!
The Lawn Association recommends hollow tine aeration after a very long hot spell of weather, as the soil will have baked and compacted under the hot sun. Aerating a lawn allows air and rain into the soil which will reinvigorate it. A feed will not go amiss either, after all, lawns will have been working hard to survive during drought conditions and they will need a boost.
Once your lawn is getting a lovely vibrant green and growing again you can start to mow, but not too short, as the grass is packed full of nutrients which it needs. The mowers to choose could be battery powered, after all the heat we have endured could be down to climate change, and battery powered gardening tools and mowers in the Freedom100 and Freedom500 ranges are greener, quieter and cleaner to use.
The products from the Freedom ranges all work via Lithium-Ion batteries which are so clever they can be interlinked and utilised with all products within that range. Mountfield customers have really taken to the ease of which the battery garden tools and mowers can be enjoyed with none of the noise, fumes and hassle of petrol engine maintenance.
So, your lawn may have taken a longer summer holiday than expected, but that does not mean that it will not be back at it’s job, looking fabulous for you and your family soon!
