Barnsdale Gardens celebrates Mothering Sunday: This Mothering Sunday, Barnsdale Gardens invites families to escape the everyday hustle and bustle and enjoy a serene day out amidst 38 uniquely crafted gardens. Nestled in the heart of Rutland, Barnsdale Gardens is the perfect retreat for those seeking a moment of calm and connection with nature.
As March ushers in the vibrant hues of spring, visitors can explore stunning features including the tranquil Japanese Garden, with its winding slate path linking two distinct styles; the delightful Wildflower Border draped in daffodils, and the Coir Rock Bed showcasing an array of spring bulbs such as Anemone blanda, Scilla, and more.

Visitors can also wander along the Winter Border, adorned with Flowering Cherry, Hellebores, and Magnolia ‘Fairy White’, or meander through the Woodland Walk where Pulmonaria, Forsythia, and other blossoms abound. The sensory indulgence of the Rose Garden, featuring two magnificent flowering cherry trees in full bloom, promises an unforgettable experience.

To complement the garden strolls, the Helenium Tea Room is hosting a Mother’s Day Two-Course Lunch on Sunday, 30th March. The specially crafted menu offers something for everyone:
Adult Main Courses:
- Pot Pie:Choose from Steak & Ale or Courgette, Leek & Mushroom, served with mash and vegetables (gluten-free option available)
- Lasagne:Accompanied by garlic bread and salad
- Herb Crusted Salmon:Served with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables
- Mushroom Stroganoff:Offered with rice or chips (gluten-free option available)
- Chicken or Vegan Curry:With rice, poppadom, and mango chutney
Adult Puddings:
- Lemon Meringue Pie
- Malted Milk & Irish Cream Torte
