Entries open for HTA New Plant Awards 2025: Applications for this year’s HTA New Plant Awards are now open.
Exhibitors at the HTA National Plant Show are eligible to enter – all entries will be displayed throughout the show, which takes place 18 – 19 June 2025 at NAEC Stoneleigh – where winners will also be announced.

HTA horticulture manager, Pippa Greenwood comments:
“The New Plant Awards celebrate the most innovative and exceptional plant varieties introduced to the market over the past year. These awards recognise plants with the potential to become the next bestsellers in garden centres.”
Noting how these awards are a chance to “gain industry recognition” and increase visibility within the marketplace.
The award categories for 2025 are, Herbaceous Perennials, Annuals, Tender Perennials, and Container & Basket Plants (updated for 2025), Flowering Houseplants, Foliage Houseplants, Cacti & Succulents, Trees (including Conifers), and Shrubs (including Conifers) & Climbers.
Bronze, silver, gold and Best in Category awards are awarded for each category, with the Best in Category winners automatically put forward for the Best in Show Award.
Those looking to enter have until Friday 17 May and can do so at hta.org.uk/national-plant-show/show-features/new-plant-awards/registration.
In 2024 the Bransford Webbs Plant Company – Digitalis purpurea Apple Blossom (pictured above) took home the top award in the herbaceous perennials category and won Best in Show.
