Keiretsu Europe invests in green facade

Keiretsu Europe invests in green facade: Keiretsu Europe BV, a leading specialist in high-quality premiums and custom-made products, recently had a green facade installed at its office in Rotterdam. The greening of the facade is a conscious choice within the company’s sustainable business strategy and provides both ecological and aesthetic benefits.

“Our building is located along a busy road. A green facade offers both visual and environmental benefits in such an urban environment,” says Joyce Viergever, project and facility manager at Keiretsu Europe.

Sustainability as a strategic spearhead

Sustainability is central to Keiretsu Europe’s business operations. “ At Keiretsu Europe, our mission is to run our business in a sustainable and responsible manner. We have firmly embedded our CSR objectives in our strategy and daily operations, ” says Viergever. “ The green facade fits in perfectly with this and contributes to a future-proof, green building.”

More biodiversity and less maintenance

The greening of the facade has directly visible effects. “ We now see more birds, butterflies and insects around the building,” Viergever shares enthusiastically. In addition, the green facade provides a financial advantage: “ We experience lower to no costs for facade cleaning. ” The plants provide natural protection against dirt and dust, which significantly reduces maintenance.

Smart technology and easy operation

The chosen system is equipped with an advanced, remote-controlled irrigation system. “This makes management easy and efficient. We can let the experts do their work without us having to check anything on a daily basis, ” says Viergever. Thanks to the modular cassette system, plants are also easy to replace or inspect, which benefits their lifespan and flexibility.

Aesthetic added value: the urban jungle look

In addition to functional benefits, the appearance also plays an important role. “ We already have a super cool building, but greening it makes it complete and gives the perfect urban jungle look ,” says Viergever. The green facade strengthens the sustainable image of the company and contributes to an inspiring working environment for employees and visitors.

Example for the future

With this investment, Keiretsu Europe proves that a green facade not only offers an aesthetic added value, but is also a smart choice for companies that take sustainability seriously. The project shows how greening can contribute to biodiversity, cost savings and a healthier living environment.
