1. The Department
The Facilities and Estates Department Team are responsible for ensuring that all sites at Aston Villa Football Club are maintained to a high standard. These sites include Villa Park, Bodymoor Heath, Academy indoor facilities and the main pitch stadium which must be kept to a high standard for Premier League, Women’s Super League and U23 fixtures.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Landscape Gardener to join our Grounds Team, based at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the quality of their work, professional and skilled in their craft.
2. The Role
You will be working on a large prestige estate carrying out landscape gardening and grounds maintenance duties and you will be working ‘hands-on’ with a team to maintain a top-class horticultural environment.
The successful postholder will be required to support with preparation and the maintenance of the training pitches to a high standard as required as well as liaising with the Grounds Manager and the rest of the team on a daily basis. You will also be required to occasionally help with preparation of training pitches and frost sheet installation.

3. The Person
You will have a NQV Diploma (Level 2) Horticulture or equivalent qualification. PA1, PA2, PA6A Pesticide Training or equivalent is essential and you must have proven experience working within a similar role.
You will need to have experience of landscaping and planting, providing advice on costing, spraying of chemicals, weed control, grass cutting, strimming, weeding, pruning, and cutting working with hand tools and light machinery.
