RHS Chelsea Flower Show celebrates UK growers

RHS Chelsea Flower Show celebrates UK growers: A celebration of the UK’s nurseries and growers will take centre stage in the Great Pavilion as UBS, the largest truly global wealth manager, returns to RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2025.

The RHS x UBS: Moments of Reflection installation, designed by Maximilian Parker-Smith, will feature plants from four nursery exhibitors to highlight their skills and expertise as specialist growers. Lincolnshire Pond Plants will provide aquatic plants for the exhibit’s water features, houseplants will be provided by Dibleys (Denbighshire) with perennials from Green Jjam Nurseries (Worcestershire). Kevock Garden Plants (Midlothian) will provide woodland plants and also inspired the design’s Scottish theme.

Imagined as a walk into the mountains and lochs of the Scottish Highlands, plants are designed into an array of distinctive environments to showcase the plants of the nurseries. Visitors will be able to journey from manicured avenues of clipped hedging and a formal water rill, through verdant woodlands, ascending momentarily into the highlands, past a rambler’s rest, housing tender plants, and finally arriving at a colourful and explosive planting scheme, including ragged robin and primulas.

Through these contrasting areas, the design will highlight the beneficial effects plants can offer. Whether through a walk in nature, a potter in the garden, or proximity to a houseplant, the exhibit will celebrate how all settings have potential for positive impact on our mental wellbeing.

From thatched archways to dry stone walls, to specialist plants big and small, the installation features the skill and workmanship of many craftspeople highlighting the importance of experience and technique.

The featured nurseries are funded by UBS to support their exhibit at RHS Chelsea and to showcase their skill as growers. After the Show, the exhibit will be relocated to one of UBS’ partner schools to provide children growing up in an urban environment with access to plants and green space.

Sarah Poll, RHS Head of Shows Development, said: “This year’s Great Pavilion at RHS Chelsea will host over 80 growers and nurseries all displaying their expertise and specialist knowledge through beautiful floral displays. This year at the heart of the Pavilion, and through the generous support of UBS, we are able to showcase the excellence of four UK growers, and we hope this feature will inspire more people to support independent nurseries and to discover more about their wonderful plants.”

Beatriz Martin, President EMEA and UK CEO, Head of Non-core and Legacy, and Group Executive Board Lead for Sustainability and Impact, at UBS said: “We’re delighted to partner with the Royal Horticultural Society to welcome over 145,000 guests, including many UBS clients and staff, to this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. We firmly believe in maximising our impact both locally and globally, and we’re excited to support and partner with four nurseries that use their craft to drive change and put impact at the heart of their business. With this in mind, we’re proud to once again give our garden a second-life by relocating it after the show to one of our partner schools, giving the future generation an opportunity to seek inspiration from nature.”

RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from 20-24 May 2025 and tickets are available online at rhs.org.uk/Chelsea
