Previously working as an arboriculture officer at the Royal Parks for eight years, Packman says this new role “is an exciting new direction for the charity,” adding:
“We are living through a climate emergency, and it’s vital that we rethink how we care for and manage the parks’ trees and consider which species and cultivars we plant to ensure that the treescapes of the future continue to flourish.”
Prioritising future-proofing the parks, Packman will be selecting and protecting the right trees to adapt to the impact of climate change.
