Oakham School
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Gardener to join our Gardens & Grounds team, helping to maintain the beautiful grounds enjoyed by our pupils, parents and staff throughout the year.
Gardener
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role covering everything from beds and borders to lawns and seasonal planting. You’ll take pride of ownership over your own areas of the campus, while working within a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys what it does.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and improving our beds, borders, and planting schemes to a high horticultural standard
- Caring for trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, from planning through to planting and upkeep
- Grass cutting and general garden maintenance
- Keeping paths and pavements tidy and free of debris
- Maintaining tools and equipment to a high standard
- Supporting School events and, when needed, winter gritting and snow clearing rotas
About You
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Horticulture
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- A collaborative, can-do attitude
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional Saturdays and early starts during winter
