Rusti launches game-changing woven solutions
Rusti’s innovative woven steel has been carefully chosen for its strength, longevity and environmental benefits and can be used to create fencing, retaining walls, steel edging, planters and much more.
Projects are tailor-made to fit any space, at any height and in any design, tracing the contours of the landscape on which it blends in sleek lines, steps or graceful curves.
The raw steel is fully recyclable and weathers naturally to a rich patina without the use of chemicals. Its inert nature ensures nothing leaches into the soil or affects surrounding planting and wildlife. Each fence is constructed by hand on site using multiple steel posts driven into the ground — twice the number of wood and without any need for concrete — around which flat steel bars are woven to create a secure, strong boundary.
The result is a fencing solution that combines engineered performance with genuine sustainability — a material as enduring as the landscapes it defines.
The story behind Rusti
Founders Oli Lambert and Brodie Biddle have more than 30 years’ experience combined in construction, garden design and landscaping. The pair had grown frustrated with traditional timber fencing and edging solutions and their growing inability to cope with the strong winds, torrential rain, droughts and high temperatures of today’s changing seasons — particularly along Hampshire’s coastline. After careful research they founded Rusti, with woven steel providing the perfect combination of strength, craftmanship and elegant design.
“Woven steel is zero maintenance, way more cost-effective than building a wall or replacing timber fencing and the results are architecturally striking,” says Oli, who studied sculpture before running a successful London design-and-build company for 20 years. “The possibilities with this product are endless — curved boundaries, angled installations, retaining walls, pond surrounds and raised beds, to name just a few.”
Each fence is built by hand and delicately welded on site according to the exact requirements of every outdoor space, ensuring each and every creation is entirely bespoke.
“Welding is so sensitive,” says Brodie, who escaped a career in account management during Covid to work in landscaping and garden design: “watching molten metal bond to mild steel is an art form.”
Rusti also provides garden design, landscaping and hardscaping, bespoke woven steel architecture as well as fencing and gates. Launched in early 2025, projects can be seen across Hampshire and the Solent coastline.
