An engaging and sensory journey, featuring the first “concert of plants” of Fuorisalone, and unique installations created by the international award-winning designer Matteo Cibic telling the story of the bond between mankind and nature.

Milan, 17-23 April 2023
STIGA, the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of garden machinery and equipment, today inaugurates #MyPatchOfGreen, an exhibition at Fuorisalone 2023 – the most important international event for design enthusiasts (but not only) – narrating the new way of caring for gardens, today more than ever to be considered our green spaces in the world.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover first-hand the company’s valuesdesigntechnology, and innovation in green care, as well as the latest product innovations that will drive the future of gardening, such as the recently announced Autonomous Lawnmower Robot.

A sensorial journey complemented by “Garden Guru” design installations, created by STIGA specifically for the occasion, have been carefully conceived and designed with the aim of highlighting company’s culture, which combines engineering skills with the passion for gardening, the logic of technology with the magic of creativity, and especially community attachment with a profound respect for nature and the planet.

Visitors will have the ability to escape the busy hustle and bustle of Milan and become immersed in the beauty of nature thanks to the sensorial experience hosted at “Denis Pizzeria di Montagna“, through an immersive, guided journey that features carefully selected plants native to the Lombardy region of Italy, integrated with other ornamental plants typical of the Italian territory. Within the specially created STIGA garden, Fuorisalone’s first-ever “plants concert” will be performed: indeed, visitors can bring a harmony of sounds and light to life by using special consoles that, connected to an electrode device applied to the leaves of the plants, allows them to become active participants in orchestrating the concert. By simply placing their hands on special areas that activate specific sounds, guests will create a continuous flow of music; a chorus of “plant voices” accompanied by an evocative play of light that produces a symphony permeating the space.

At the end of the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to discover unique insights that stress how important gardens are for our planet. The objective is to demonstrate that each and every one of us can do our best to safeguard these ecosystems through responsible care and by leveraging cutting-edge technology offered by STIGA.

This narrative of the strong bond between mankind and nature will also be brought to life at Fuorisalone through the “Garden Gurus”, innovative installations created in collaboration with the internationally renowned designer Matteo Cibic, positioned in strategic locations around the city, specifically in and around Milan’s Design District: Largo La Foppa, Corso Garibaldi 127 – on corner of Piazza XXV Aprile – and Via Statuto 16. By framing a QR CODE on the Garden Gurus, viewers will unlock unique content that will enable them to discover more details about the installations themselves, more information about STIGA’s values and the #MyPatchOfGreen initiative.

“STIGA is the first company in the sector to take part in the internationally most important annual event for design enthusiasts, an appointment in which we are very proud to participate,” commented Giacomo Tesolin, Marketing Director of the STIGA Group. “Fuorisalone for us represents a significant opportunity to raise awareness of important topics affecting our industry and planet and to continue to engage with consumers first-hand, enabling us to listen and analyze the evolving needs our market. This approach ultimately leads us to create industry-leading products and campaigns rooted in technological innovation and sustainability, such as our recently launched Autonomous Robot”.

Indeed, autonomous, smart, and sustainable, the focus tech innovation featured at STIGA’s #MyPatchOfGreen Fuorisalone experience will be the STIGA A1500. Revolutionizing garden care, the autonomous mower boasts over 30 technology and design patents, having been conceived to help people create beautiful gardens with naturally healthier lawns. Thanks to its cutting-edge predictive technology, it transforms garden care by taking care of the garden in complete autonomy, without having to install any ground wires and thus without intervention by the owner. It is able to recognise where and how often to cut, and to sidestep obstacles in the garden, such as barbecues or natural elements.

STIGA A1500 is the world’s first robot lawnmower that can be safely left alone doing its job, giving the user the confidence that the lawn well cared for and flourishing.

The #MyPatchOfGreen experience, hosted by Denis Pizzeria di Montagna, will be available with complimentary entry to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except for special events) throughout Milan Design Week.
